About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current objective is to meet a new group of people that are excited about being global citizens as I am

ABOUT ME

Pretty laid back, but excitable. Hate free time and like to be always doing stuff. Little annoys me and I get along with most everyone. My few vices include, parents who allow their children to tap on glass cages at the zoo, people who press the handicapped button so that the door opens despite them having perfect capability to walk, people who take public transportation places when it is faster for them just to walk.... other than that, I like everyone

PHILOSOPHY

I personally live by the idea that all the social constructions and constraints that have been created are just pulling us apart from each other. It is necessary to get above that, and to really know another culture and to deconstruct stereotypes and former ideas of other cultures. You must face your fears and not allow them to stop you from visiting and interacting with other cultures. Then you have to work towards creating a system and world where everyone is able to work towards common goals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting new people from different regions of the world. I have a lot of experience traveling and always want to know about new and interesting places to go. It is difficult to meet people in daily interactions that are as interested in global travel and making a real positive impact on societies, and I feel that a lot of the people in this community are discovering the world in order to better serve it. I am interested in hearing all of their stories. Unfortunately I don't live in a place where I can offer a couch. I hope to be able to offer more in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No previous couchsurfing experience, though I traveled with one couchsurfer in Egypt and Israel and had a hell of a time.

Interests

I'm interested in Spanish poetry, magnetic poetry, dancing, tango, salsa, ballroom, traveling, eating things I can't pronouce. Battering foreign languages in attempts to improve my own skills. Watching cheesy Spanish movies. Crew, ultimate frisbee, running, aerobics, procrastinating by joining internet communities, cooking, baking, hiking, biking, running from the police, taking long uncomfortable busrides, being a tourist, organizing photos, making slideshows, making up words to songs that I can't remember the correct lyrics

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm, off the beaten track, in Chile I climbed up an incredible mountain during their winter time. It was one of the largest on the coastline outside of Valparaiso. One of our companions was a bit out of shape so it took us longer than expected, but we made it to the top. From one side of panorama you could see the Pacific ocean and from the other you could see right into Argentina. It was incredible. We stayed at the top a bit too long though, and had to climb down a large portion in the dark using our cellphones as flashlights. Finally a park ranger came by and gave us a lift. He drove down the twisty mountain road in a jeep, (jurassic park style when the three characters are being chased by the T-Rex), it was an incredible experience, and the view was priceless.
