About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live my life as an adventure and pilgrimage of self growth and avoid the stagnant sofa-centric lifestyle most people lead today
ABOUT ME
I am a bit of an anarchist at heart. Not the chaotic-troublemaking-mayhem-and-destruction kind, more the faith-in-the-essential-goodness-of-humanity and do-we-really-need-all-these-rules sort. I no longer want to live a life where people tell me what I can and can't do. I'm a pretty clever chap so I am pretty damned certain I know the best way to live my own life. For me morality is simple as you want it to be: do what makes you happy as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else (ok its pretty easy to over-complicate this statement).
I've spent a lot of my life in formal education and yet I have never wanted a "regular life". You know - wife, 2.3 kids, a dog, two cars, house, white-picket fence, pool and "good" job. I never wanted a 9-5 office job. And yet... I find myself training to be a doctor, the epitome of the white collar middle-class dream. Hmm... and then (just recently) I went to Uganda for 2 months and had myself an epiphany.
I'm not sure what I am going to do next but I am sure as hell going to find myself the adventure I have always been looking for. Whilst I am on my personal pilgrimage I am hoping couchsurfing will open up a world of like minded-individuals and so meet the kinds of people I met whilst travelling.
PHILOSOPHY
That's pretty dense really, something I'd rather discuss over some beers or coffee. At risk of pigeon-holing myself I identify a lot with the ideas of Zen Buddhism however I don't restrict myself to this view.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been told I've lived an interesting life but from my point of view I have only done what I thought wisest at the time and therefore feel as though I haven't really done anything that special...
However, I learnt to ride a 100cc motorbike, learnt to kayak on the Nile rapids, climbed an extinct volcanic mountain and touched Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC.
