ABOUT ME

I live in Oberlin, Ohio, where I am currently a student of Biochemistry and Biology. I conduct primary research in the field of developmental biology and I am hoping to learn a lot about medicine from these sorts of projects. Hence, I study quite a bit. I also like to exercise, play squash and hike(when the weather's good).
I want to meet new people and learn new ideas. Too much scientific discovery has led me to yearn for cultural immersion and new ways of thinking.
One thing you should know about me is that I discover a place through its food, its art, talking to its people, and its nature.

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard, live fast, die young. relax, explore, live happy. Life is for giving, not taking.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When in College I am willing to offer my couch to anyone traveling in the Cleveland area, although Oberlin is in a relatively secluded area of Ohio (I don't know anyone in their right minds who would end up in Oberlin for vacation, for instance). But my couch is open nonetheless.
I LOVE exercise and food. In fact, they love me back! Since I'm a chemist by training and an amateur cook, I try to expand my experience by figuring out the ingredients of new foods and experimenting in the kitchen. I want to cook for and eat with my hosts or guests! There is just a whole other level of communication that uses a tongue not just for talking, but tasting!
Also, I would love to show people the natural wonders of my area (again Ohio has little of interest) but I also want to discover others by hiking, biking, running to them! So show me the way ;D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My girlfriend and I went to venice, verona, salzburg and vienna during the summer of '11 and we had a blast! Lef (Stephan) and his friends hosted us in Vienna for several days while they showed us the town. It was spectacular.
Other times, I took a CS friend, who was visiting west Texas, to the top of the mountains and also to very good local cuisine. I also took him to my families special meal, where we had a feast laid out just for his arrival.

Interessi

Nature!! I love the science behind it, our relationship to it and also persistence of it. my hobbies include hiking, juggling, exploring, exercising(squash, tennis, swimming, biking, running, weight lifting, backpacking), research, medicine, foreign cultures (but i'm not very good with foreign languages).

FOOD! cooking, eating, drinking. I want to try every food at least once!

too many

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I've swum 75 yards without breathing only to pass out from a lack of oxygen at the end. After going unconscious, I was saved by my friends with little to no brain-damage...so I hope.
