ABOUT ME

I'm a nineteen year old girl from Iceland. I just finished high school and figured that this was the time to do something crazy, before I start university. I've wanted to backpack around the world for many years, but never actually believed I would do it.
Since my friend from Iceland was going to backpack for one year I decided to go for it as well. I met up with her in Indonesia in June and I'm spending over six months traveling.

I've always done well in school and in high school I was more in the science area. I'm thinking about learning the doctor in university in Iceland but I'm not quite sure yet.

I'm not the most open person in the world and not really chatty. Or maybe I should say that I don't have to be talking all the time, silence can be good. But I am social, I always like to meet new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm still just a kid so I'm pretty much thinking about having fun right now and trying to get the most out of life. I want to experience new and different things. I want to know how people live their lives on the other side of the globe. I'm trying to do that now by not living as a tourist but living like a local. Now that I've started my traveling I really wished I could do it for a longer time, visit more countries.
When I'm back to Iceland I'm going to get a real good education, try to settle down. But I'll probably just want to go traveling again.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A friend just told me about this. I'm a beginner and don't know much about how this works, but I'm trying to work on it even though I don't have a lot of time.

I'm looking for couches to sleep on while I'm traveling and I'd love to host some travelers when I'm back home.

Interests

I've always been pretty adventurous and I love all kinds of sports. I practised gymnastics for over 10 years until I had to quit because of back induries. Now athletics have taken over.
I also love beeing out in the nature, rock climbing and hiking and stuff. Sometimes I can be really reckless and not think before I act. I love being scared and feel the adrenaline flow, because that doesn't happen quite often.
I love school and learning new things that interest me. I like reading good books and watching good movies.
I love my friends, hanging out with them and partying with them.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Boondock Saints, The Green Mile and Moulin Rouge have been my favorites for a long time. Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino are geniuses.
Music: Imogen Heap, Coldplay, Linkin Park...
Books: I like Dan Brown. Harry Potter and Isfolkid (Norwegian book series).
