About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live nowhere and everywhere (as long as there's coffee).

ABOUT ME

Just a French gay guy trying to find his place into this world! I've lived in different countries for the past few years due to my studies and work. Right now I live in Belgium, where I came for a traineeship and stayed for a job, and hopefully I'll be here for a while :)

On a more personal level, I love traveling, hiking, house music, watching movies and hanging out with friends (I know, not very original...). I also love cooking, especially for other people (I can make a mean Thai curry). I love partying, whether it be at home or outside. Many people told me I was very respectful and laid back (usually in some contexts like" you're really nice for a French person").

PHILOSOPHY

I think respect and openness are the most important values to me. Always be ready to discover/try new things once, even if you think you're not going to like it (deep-fried pork tendons still win in this field) and always show some respect to the people you meet.

I'm always torn apart whenever I travel: on the one hand I'd like to see pretty much every place on this planet, and on the other hand I feel like you don't really know a place unless you spend at least one month there. Which means that I'll either have to live around 300 years or accept to never go to some places more than one day. Sadness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed several times before, but never really had a place where I could host until relatively recently.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been doing "informal" couchsurfing for years (i.e. hosting or being hosted by friends of friends of friends... or hosting people found on the street with huge bagpacks and no roof to put them under). Sometimes I did couchsurfing with friends who included me in their profiles, but never had one myself! I have also had a few guests in the past years.

Music, Movies, and Books

Really hard questions, I like too many of them! Let's still give it a try...

I am a HUGE movie fan. My interests vary from cheesy horror movies to Japanese movies from the 50's. I really love animated movies (mangas being only a small part of it), musicals, kungfu movies, Korean movies... My favorite directors would be Bill Plympton and Kim Ki-Duk. And I'm always down to discover any old/new movies!

For music, my knowledge is much more limited but I'm trying to expand my tastes. My favorites include electro/techno/house music and mainstream pop music (yes, I do like Britney and Gaga. Who knows, they might find a cure for me one day ;) )

As for books, I tend to enjoy classical American and British literature. Orwell is definitely one of my favorites, especially his social works. Right now I've started reading some social activists' biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most of the things I've done/seen that were amazing were so only because they happened with some amazing people. I value some memories with friends (or strangers...) as much as some wonderful sites I've seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach you how to make curry? Oh, and mojitos too.
