About Me

CURRENT MISSION

purposefully pass the time

ABOUT ME

I have lived many lives, including but not limited to: college student in Walla Walla, WA, study abroad student in Kyoto, Japan, college student in Los Angeles, a child/teenager near San Francisco, a hummingbird, a dragonfly, a seahorse. Sometimes I have curly dark hair and/or a beard. I like adventures. I like walking to enjoy nature. I like chocolate and garlic, but not together. I can rarely tell if I am more like a very small child or a very old man.

PHILOSOPHY

There are so many choices in the world, so how do we choose? We cannot do everything all at once, so it's best to make a decision, finish what you start, and in due time the next choice will present itself.

Don't regret the past: whatever happened, happened.

When someone tells you to do something and says it's important, just do it.

When things get bad, just drink some juice.

Step 1: Grow beard. Step 2: Play drums.

Everything is allowed!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting when I can; mostly surfing. I want to repay all the generosity that has been bestowed upon me in my many travels!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed my way through Korea and Taiwan. Met only amazing people with great stories. Have also crashed on a lot of couches and floors, but not through this website.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies--I used to be able to enjoy most films and get at least something enjoyable from the experience, but as I've gotten older I have become a much harsher critic.

Music--makes the world go round

Books--I'm illiterate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kayaking in southeast Alaska for two weeks. The temperate rain forest on my left and the inland sea on my right, with huge glaciers in the distance. Whales singing and American bald eagles swooping overhead every half hour.

Teach, Learn, Share

There are SO MANY things in this world we just don't get to learn that much about!! Tell me anything about science, art, literature, music, history, your personal philosophy, a good yarn about how you learned something of crucial importance to your identity and the way you live your life. Ask me any of the above. I can also teach you a few good yoga stretches and when I'm traveling I almost always have some fun art supplies with me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cambodia, Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
