My first love: snowboarding, then diving, downhill biking, live music, rock climbing, hiking, cross-cultural exchange, reading, sampling local foods and brews.

Other things I like: marching into the wilderness and meeting like-minded people who like to get crazy but are still down to earth.

PHILOSOPHY

Hard to sum up, but it seems to me like we've only got a short time here on earth so we've got to make the best of it. Jobs are a terrible waste of our limited time. But finding a life's work and passion is an artistic triumph.

I'm slowly working on freeing myself from totalitarian cycles of work. Not saying I'm lazy, but can't really bare the idea of gradually selling my life away to help some big man make a few bucks. The blog's working nicely as a canvas to grow and strengthen my interests and skills.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll host or surf anytime I'm able to. CS has changed the way I travel. It's so much better to go from surfer to surfer rather than attraction to attraction from "Crowded Planet."

CS group events are also a blast.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few times in China, and surfed quite a few times in SE Asia and the US.
