About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sarah and I are all about building bridges (cultivating connection) with people from all over the world, within our marriage and within ourselves.

Between us we have independently travelled to nearly 100 cities, 34 countries (37 if you count airport and ports), and reaching all continents except Antarctica. On New Year's Eve in 2016, we traveled throughout 13 countries in Asia and Canada in July 2016.

Personally my mission is to travel the world, meet genuine, unique and compassionate people, and have unforgettable experiences.

ABOUT ME

If you're interested in some recommendations and some great stories about our travels and life, we would love to share!

Sarah, my wife, is a singer/songwriter/musician, has been a fellowship leader, and has always postured her life for others. She even plunged a lived in Tokyo for a year and knows some Japanese. Currently she is a coffee shop manager, as coffee is another passion of hers.

People who know me best would describe me as thoughtful, driven, chivalrous, genuine and content person that likes to get out of his comfort zone. I cannot live without my family, friends, traveling, art, delicious food and new experiences.

One thing I hope to learn and experience are the values of the particular societies, cultures, families and individuals that I visit. I am eager to learn whatever anyone has to offer!

I have a close, personal, open and faithful (trusting) relationship (rather than irresponsibly obeying a mere ‘religion’ or church) with God, His Son and the Holy Spirit. I have, am currently and will always: love, be excited to, and seek to know others' faiths and beliefs further.

PHILOSOPHY

“The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” -1Tim 1.5 (ESV)

“Life is deep and high and distant; and though only your vast vision can reach even her feet, yet she is near; and though only the breath of your breath reaches her heart, the shadow of your shadow crosses her face, and the echo of your faintest cry becomes a spring and an autumn in her breast.” –Khalil Gibran

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I myself have couch-surfed in Athens for 11 days and it was much more than I could have ever asked for.

Vasilis is an amazing human being that hosted me in Athens! As a host he got me medication, introduced me to some healing remedies, prepared delicious and original food, took me to a play, showed me Azkia (an artistic part of town), the beach, picturesque views of Athens, and so much more. His place was clean, spacious and artistically unique. Basically as an unconditionally hospitable host he demolished my standards, far exceeded my highest expectations and did it all by being himself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On New Year's Eve of 2016, my wife Sarah and I got the amazing opportunity to visit 13 countries (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Japan and South Korea) throughout Asia and we ended our trip in Vancouver, B.C. for just over 6 months. We averaged a $35 daily budget (transportation and gifts included).

In May of 2010, I got the amazing opportunity to visit 15 countries (Greece, Italy, the Vatican, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Iceland) throughout most of western Europe, Prague and Israel for about 5-months. For the majority of the trip I traveled alone and averaged a $40 daily budget (transportation and gifts included).

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach
A fellowship group elected me as their sole peer representative speaker. I spoke to about 150 people on how I lived with God to become effective, triumphant and content in my life. My relationship with God consists of hearing, vocalizing and responding to Him as an expression of my journey, destiny or path.

Learn
One thing I hope to learn and experience are the values of the particular societies, cultures, families and individuals that I visit. I especially enjoy hearing about people's experiences where they learned, got out of their comfort zone or stumbled upon the greatness of humanity. I am eager to learn whatever anyone has to offer!
