About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world and meet great people while spending close to a year abroad.

ABOUT ME

I am currently an aspiring law student. If all goes well I will begin school somewhere next august. In the meantime, I plan on traveling for the next 8 months through Asia, Europe and South America. It's always been a dream and I'm lucky enough to have the opportunity. I want to use the next year to learn as much as I can about the different people in the world and hopefully, along the way, make many new friends with whom to share a pint, take some spectacular photos, and live the adventures I'll one day be boring my kids and grandkids with!

PHILOSOPHY

Be open-minded, tolerant of others, and never afraid to try something new!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am fairly new to couch surfing. It was suggested to me by one of my friends who's had great experiences with it. I'm hoping to meet new people in the next year, as I take a prolonged trip around the world. I'd love nothing more than to get to really know each place with the help of a friendly local host.

My hope is to make a whole bunch of life long friends and hopefully be able to pay them back with some hospitality of my own when I make it back to the states!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was in South Africa during the world cup. A little out of the ordinary, as our hosts were also visiting for the World Cup. But I found it was a great way to meet some great people and save a little cash to better enjoy the sites (the latter part was particularly helpful as hostel prices soared to $100 a night! Hostels!)

Interests

I'm a huge sports fan. I've been to many different games in my life and love the passion that you see in many different fan bases.

I used to fence and recently became certified as a scuba diver! I'm sure this can only make future trips better.

Other than that, I'm usually up for anything and especially like to try anything that sets a place apart and that I'm not going to get to do in many places (that's how I ended up cliff diving in Hawaii once).

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of classic rock, though I will sometime fall prey to lots of mainstream pop. With books and movies, I'll read anything so long as the story's got a good twist and the author doesn't spend 25 pgs describing the shade of blue of the main character's blouse. I'm a big Harry Potter and Doctor Who fan!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saw a Lion and Lioness take down a huge gazelle from roughly 50 feet away while on Safari at a National Park in South Africa. I got to see them feast from about 20 feet away, both exhilarating and terrifying and certainly fortunate, as apparently their much more often nocturnal hunters and it was our only day in the park!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn to cook better, and especially cook meals from around the world. As for teaching,
