About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I would rather have my purpose find me than define it in advance
ABOUT ME
I am an eternal student and the world is my teacher. My biggest interest is the human experience and thus, the human mind. My trinity of interests is psychology, philosophy, and spirituality - how they differ and how they are essential to each other. Throw in some good 'ol politics, followed by a heavy sense of activism (nonviolent, of course). I am a lover and a thinker and I don't think anyone can ever do either too much. Alright, maybe the thinking too much, but not the loving. I love to learn and debate ideas. I love to meet new people and get to know them as intimately as possible.
Anything else - check out my website, or check out http://www.myspace.com/skinny_d - another website
PHILOSOPHY
I could write for pages! Basically - live, love, don't cause anyone harm in the process, care for others, most of the tenets of a humanistic communitarian socialism (a la Fromm)! Live with passion! And the more exclamation points, the better!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted a guy who rode a bike from Minnesota to Florida. And am about to take a train cross-country and CouchSurf in six different cities.

Music, Movies, and Books
Entertainment is a love of mine! Movies - "mindfucks," slapstick comedy, the occasional brainless action movie, typically anything that makes you think.
Music - I could go one forever! - Ska is my favorite, followed closely by hard rock, then everything else rock, with some jazz and classical mixed in for taste.
Books: Erich Fromm, Dan Millman, Philosophers galore (existentialist!), Vonnegut, anything that throws my mind for a spin and redefines my reality!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent a month studying abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Took a road trip around the Southeast of the US and saw some interesting sights!
Teach, Learn, Share
I've got a background in computers but I'm a student of life now! Psychology and Philosophy are my current educational background and I play ultimate frisbee as well.
