About Me

CURRENT MISSION

There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign.” - Robert Louis Stevenson

ABOUT ME

I have always loved travelling and learning languages. As part of my under-grad university degree I spent a year in Nurnberg, Germany and I also worked in Berlin for 3 months, which was an amazing experience as the wall was just starting to come down.

I have worked as a resort representative in Spain and Switzerland. Barcelona is a very interesting city, but the Spanish beach resorts were not really my cup of tea. I loved Switzerland though - everything about it - the people, the places, the scenery, the food, the atmosphere, the summer and winter sports. Happy days.

Then I worked for British Airways for 9 years, based mostly near London Heathrow. It was a great chance to see more of the world, but unfortunately staff flight tickets are stand-by so it's quite unnerving as you're never quite sure whether you're going to get home!

I recently decided on a career change and quit my job to go to law school (brave or stupid?) I'm glad I took the plunge and am enjoying the new life so far, although I miss the international aspect.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe diem

Interests

Likes: Walking, ski-ing, nature, travel and languages, cooking, photography, theatre especially musical theatre or dance productions, animals, Italian and Chinese food.

Dislikes: Rudeness/impatience, tea, coffee, flying (ironic when I worked for an airline for so long), I'm not too fond of red meat and am a bit scared of spiders.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer non-fiction: travel writing, cookbooks, biographies. I also like Robert Harris novels as they blur fact and fiction.
