About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to travel to the far reaches of the globe and meet the most interesting people on the planet. Why? Why not! Life is an adventure.

ABOUT ME

I love travel, adventure, and meeting new people. One of my favorite hobbies is cooking, so if you let me stay with you I'll be happy to make some meals for you. Connecting with people from all over the world is a very important part of my life. I'm a psychologist, and I study things like empathy, universal emotions, and facial/vocal expressions. I'm also working on exciting new projects on the experience of awe around the world. My work at UC Berkeley involves a lot of travel, so I plan on visiting many different countries.

I'm also working on some documentaries from my travels. The first is about the spiritual experience of awe around the world. For this one, I'll be heading to some of the most incredible natural and human-made wonders on the planet. The second is about the stories of real people who are connected in fascinating ways around the globe. If you feel like you have an interesting story to tell, be sure to let me know!

I live in Berkeley, California with my friends. We have a great house with some comfortable couches, and a small urban farm next door. I am located right in the heart of Berkeley, which is very close to San Francisco, Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, and Palo Alto. It's a very exciting place to live, and I love traveling with friends to all of the great places nearby.

Hiking and outdoor adventure are a few of my favorite activities. I enjoy exploring national and regional parks and living out of my backpack and tent. I'm always happy to join friends on backpacking trips.

Other than that, my hobbies include inventing things, starting new businesses, cooking, and playing music. Send me a message to learn more about me!

PHILOSOPHY

Expect nothing; experience everything! I like to make friends wherever I go, and I enjoy every day to the fullest. I believe that compassion is the key to universal happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My housemates and I are more than happy to host your visit to Berkeley. We have a few comfy couches in our living room, which is well heated and has lots of windows. I can also meet you for coffee/lunch to just talk about the area and show you some great places.

I travel frequently, and I would enjoy meeting you or couchsurfing at your place wherever you are on the planet!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couchsurfing, but I'm very supportive of the idea and can't wait to start participating. I've hosted a few great people at my place so far, and now I'm ready to start surfing around the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are so many things to choose from, but the first thing that came to mind was going hang-gliding over the Alps in Switzerland!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn how to cook your favorite meals and show you how to make mine! I can also teach you about chemistry, psychology, universal emotions, empathy, and (most importantly) human happiness! I'm always happy to share my experiences traveling, inventing new things, and starting businesses.
