ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small rural town outside of Buffalo, NY. After a few directionless years as an undergrad at the University at Buffalo, a study abroad experience in France forever shifted my life's course. Through an exposure to radically different transportation systems, land use, and development patterns, I came to realize the interplay between human behavior and our built environment. I decided to pursue a masters degree in Urban Planning and commit myself to working to create a more vibrant, livable, and equitable City of Buffalo.
PHILOSOPHY
“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.”

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As a graduate student at the University at Buffalo I helped start a community tool lending library in my neighborhood. Costing just $10/year, the University Heights Tool Library provides students, renters, and homeowners access to an inventory of over 500 tools. The Tool Library has evolved into a resource center where neighbors can come together, and using the tools on hand, develop solutions to quality of life issues in the community. "Isn't it wonderful that none of us need wait a moment before starting to change the world."
