Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying a long sought after dream

ABOUT ME

Hello everybody! Italian born and bred, I come from a small town near the mountains in the north- west of the Bel Paese. After high school I moved to Geneva, Switzerland, for three years and then I continued my studies in London. After a great year in sunny Barcelona I went back home to Italy for a while, waiting for my Visa. I currently live in the Bay Area with my geeky husband and I work as a freelance translator and languages teacher.I love meeting new people, sharing experiences, listening and most of all learning from other people's life. I love to get around with travelers, open-minded and dynamic people. I can spend hours listening to other people's stories, being fascinated by their adventures. When I go abroad I love to try to immerse myself in the local life, I love to try the local food and do what local people normally do. I am amazed by tiny little details of people's way of living and thinking. I try to see the good in everything first and I believe that negative experiences can be enriching too.If you are visiting Italy and you like the countryside you are more than welcome at my place: plenty of space, great mountains landscape, always sth nice to eat prepared my full-of-beans granny :)

PHILOSOPHY

A house still doesn't make a home. But the people you meet along your path can become your family.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to go to CS meeting as often as I can when I move to a new place. In Barcelona, I love joining the language exchanges group, and I was an habituée at the Barcelona CS meetings.

Mostly, I try to spread the word and convert as many skeptics as possible to the CS spirit. I truly think that if more people could try and enjoy the CS experience and share it with others, the world would be a better place :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for the first time in Wales before starting my Erasmus .Since then I mainly couchsurfed in the UK, meeting some great and wonderful people in Leeds and Manchester, like Tasha, who then became my housemate for good in London. I also had a loto of lovely people staying at my place in London.

Intereses

I love visiting different places and trying to adapt each time rather than imposing my italianity abroad!I am fascinated by languages and cultures, and by how they shape the way we see the world.I have started doing yoga not so long ago and I am trying to keep on practicing and learning more about it.

Música, películas y libros

Bah, it depends, recently I have been listening more often to...Subsonica, Local Natives, Dave Matthews band, Fleming and John, Paul Kalkbrenner,Ellen Allien, Alien Ant Farm, Talking Heads and all rock's classics. Also, I love Bev Lee Harling, a charming London singer who makes music with kitchen tools and vegetables.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I guess most people will say I haven't done particularly amazing things... no free climbing, parachuting or safari in the jungle ( not yet at least, but nothing I would say no to)....doing yoga really early in the morning on a beautiful empty beach at dawn. Hopefully I'll manage to repeat that experience in Barcelona.seeing Chicago for the first time. Those skyscrapers, the river and the bridges, just like you see them in the movies took my breath awaytravelling by car all the way from Western New York to Washngton DC and seeing bits of rural USA and driving through the Allegheny National forestWatching the bizarre population invading Wind street in Swansea, South Wales, on a Saturday nightThe greatest sushi ever with the nicest couchsurfers in Leeds.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I love cooking with others all sorts of food and I love pretty much any type of cuisine. I have recently started doing yoga and love it immensely and I am happy to share what I learnt and to learn more about it.
