About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience life through all the possibilities that I have

ABOUT ME

I like to think that everyone is kind of a growing puzzle, that life create new peaces and every experience is a part of this. You can see one side or another and maybe think that you done it, but there is more than that that is just exhibited in a profile or conversation, and every minute something more can happen that changes everything that you discovered. So, I am a weird kind of puzzle. And I can show you a little bit of that pieces here or in another place, telling you some of the things that I know, think and like. And this peaces can modify your collection, as well yours can modify mine. Just let be open for that!

PHILOSOPHY

I love to think about things and talk about it, also listening to what people have to say. I can't say about one single philosophy, I have many of them in the caos of my thoughts. I try to understand the ideas that I disagree, I try ever to get better and to know more and more about what the world can offer me and what could I offer to the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think couch surfing is a way to know people, and have contacts with their places not only in superficial, alone, closed in our own foreign way to see things. Its a way to show us that the world and the citys are more complex than that beautiful monument on the corner, and that places have more history than that what is written on touristic destines.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted for some people, I made friends here, and I had conversations and experiences that I think I will never forget! And it was just the beginning, cause I want to have more and more experiences around the world.

Interests

Love meeting new people and places. I really like books, movies, theater, music and arts in general. I also enjoy politics, science, knowing ideas, new people and places. All due to always expand my views about the world, people and things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I could say that my favorite books are "Crime and Punishment", from Dostoievski, and "Blindness", from José Saramago, but I can't. I can't cause "A Hora da Estrela" and "Agua Viva" from Clarice Lispector changed all my life when I was a lost boy in school. I can't cause "Tabacaria" from Fernando Pessoa exist, and the poetry of Castro Alves (a brazilian poet that was against slavering) remember me the smiles of my father. I can't cause someone could ask me: but why you didn't say nothing about "Cien Años de Soledad?", and I could not answer this question, and the same about many others. So, what I could say, is that literature can be a such a wonderful and great thing in my life that classificate is not the way that I want. There is so many to read, so many to know, so many to be enchanted and to change my view of life in pages of books that I can say that I wish to have the eternity for it (and for a lot of other things).

I said all that about books, and than the site is asking about movies too. Well, is quite the same. I can say movies that I love, but I will always think that this is not sufficient. If I say about "City of God", "The Seventh Seal", or "El Angel Exterminador", I could remember that Timon and Pumba (from the "Lion King" and another movies) made me smile with people that I love most in the difficult childhood that I had.

Music too, made my world bigger and my life different. And I don't limit this in one or two ways of do it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are several things, but I will tell one that I will probably never forget. Its not about what I done, but what I experienced. In the small town that I was born, Arcos, has an old lady who has a small and apparently simple house. But the inside of her house looks like a place where a person could only be in imagination, or maybe refreshing years and years of the lost memories. In every corner of the walls, ceiling, tables and furniture, there are things hanging like angels, photographs, pictures and all kinds of ornaments, that give the impression that you just entered in another world. She said that she tries to keep in that small house everything that happen in her life and made her smile, including memories of the people she met. She is alone, simple, sweet and poetic, and have those various little things like great representations of the past, of happiness, of love, of memory, of life. Enter inside the world of that simple woman and understand a little bit about what could stay behind everything that seems to be just "one more" was some of the most wonderful things that I experienced.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to talk about movies, books, places, ideas; I can show something about what I understand about the world and maybe we, together, could teach and learn something, even is apparently the most simple thing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Smiles, talks, friendship, points of view, a piece on a growing puzzle! :) In the house, I could try to help with something that the person need, I could try to cook a plate that the person never eat. But really try, cause I am kind of insecure on kitchen and sometimes it works, sometimes it not. Its a risk! haha
