I love meeting new people and I love putting on my metaphorical tour guide hat and showing people around or telling them what I know about stuff. In order to do that I have to be good at listening to people too so I happen to have quite a bit of training in active listening.

There's a freedom and constant reinvention that one experiences through travel that is unlike anything else and I retain a ongoing hunger for it.

I don't really drink much and despite all this hair, I don't do drugs at all. I'm laid back and interested in connecting with others.

Community building is huge part of who I am. For years I've been a co-facilitator of a discussion group on polyamory and have been a part of discussion panels on the subject at a few conferences. I've learned about Non-violent communication and attended many workshops on personal growth.

There's an openness I experience in people and in myself when travelling. It's so rare in many people's day to day lives and it's like a light being turned on inside them (and myself) that makes the world a much better place. I'm hoping to connect with that feeling through this community.

This summer I went to Colorado and Wyoming where I saw the total eclipse. It was a lot of work for 2 minutes & 24 seconds but that's what I said when I traveled to Cape Canaveral for the 3rd last Space Shuttle launch. (Twice! the first time I went the launch was canceled and rescheduled a couple months later due to cracks on the fuel tanks.

I'm pretty comfortable working with the Mac OS and built a Hackintosh last year. I know a bunch of obscure technical things around recording, photography, movie making and general maker stuff like Arduinos.
