I raised 3 kids and took care of my 80 year old mother during the pandemic. I'm aiming to be more selfish and travel and play as much as I can while I'm still fully functional. I like: small venue concerts, long walks, playing guitar, singing and harmonizing with others, house sitting and taking care of other's fur babies. I'm learning to trade stocks and continue to record songs and play gigs.
Traveling out of Madison, WI which was my home for nearly 2 decades before the pandemic. I've been house sitting continuously, going on 2 years in April 2026, all in the united States. I've been to Minneapolis, Philly, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Nashville, San Antonio, Knoxville, Asheville, Durham, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Durango and Truth or Consequences - to name the most recognizable ones. This year I hope to include the west coast and maybe get out of the country. I haven't been outside the US border since 2006.
UPDATE: I'm back in Madison for the summer 2026. Looking to get out to hear music, authors, also visit museums, bike, throw some frisbee, hike in nature and in the city. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've done AirBnb and been a house guest of friends. I'm aiming to do some pet sitting for friends as well as strangers thru Trusted Housesitters - I've completed dozens of housesits since spring of 2024 and got mostly 5star reviews. I've done house sits and cared for pets, exchanges and paid. I like to help out in exchange for hospitality whether taking care of pets or doing some house and yard work. I mostly eat vegetarian but I'm unlikely to turn my nose up at pizza no matter what's on it. I can cook [low confidence honestly] or sing and play guitar [ very VERY high confidence!] in exchange for a bed or couch..
