About Me

CURRENT MISSION

have fun, dont let life go to waste, but still appreciate it the times its boring. To give myself the opportunity to amaze my self, and be amazed by others.

ABOUT ME

I'm 31 years and live in Tromsø, Norway. The best things i know is rock climbing, skiing, hiking up mountains, spending time outside, as well as hanging around with friends and maybe have a beer. (and taking pictures of all of that). I like most things.
Love dumpsterdiving, woodcrafting, vegetables (eat and grow) playing the one song I know on mandolin and generally fix things. At home, I work as a nurse, its nice, but still work, I do it as much as I like and to still have money to do more outdoorsy creative things.

Being with people, I like everything, being outside doing what not, waterfights, doing projects together, pick blueberries. I am also funny and nice. (well, that sounded funny and nice, but yes.) ;)

PHILOSOPHY

Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i host people when i can, depending on where i'm staying at the moment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only good experiences with this, and surfing/hosting is a great way to get to know people and its a privilege to show people around and give them something else than you can find in Lonely PLanet

Interests

rock climbing, skiing, outdoor life. growing food, making different handcrafty pieces of everything, knitting, photography, woodchopping.
Generally, i'm up for practically anything.
I have a blog too: www.disasterphoto.wordpress.com

i dont like: people who takes themselves too seroiusly, meat-o-holics, homophobia, radishes, shopping-malls.

Music, Movies, and Books

i like travelling memoirs, especially from people who has been travelling self-propelled, like biking and such. Full Tilt by Dervla Murphy is one of my absolute favourite books

musically i like everything from pearl jam, to erasure, to different world music and samba orchestras. i try to play some guitar and i love to sing, but i wish i was prioritating my musicality much more.
there is no tv in my home, i prefer watching things on youtube or make a fire instead.

i like happy, funny and easy films (and i know a great bunch of disney quotations (in swedish though))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i think everything will be amazing, if you just get into it with the right mindset. if you are a grumpy lemon, riding bike all over the country will never be fun.

Some things I've really enjoyed:

Hiking up the highest mountain in Sweden a lovely sunny day,
hitchhiking through the canadian rockies, getting delayed to my destination because of being invited to parties with the people I was hitching with,

various rock climbing holidays over the world. Most recently in Squamish, Canada where I fell in love with trad climbing in cracks :)

being rescued from a thunder storm on a desolate island in Norway, by an old lady serving me waffles for three days until the rain stopped,

biking through different parts of sweden, enjoying our right to roam, exploring the swedish countryside eating wild strawberries by the road and swimming in beautiful lakes.

Sometimes travelling can be so tiring, having to spend so much energy on finding a place to stay and eat, but when everything works out, I never want to be anywhere else.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can take you rock-climbing or hiking if you like. I'm also a dedicated dumpsterer, so if you wanna learn the skills of getting free food, I'm happy to show you that. I can also teach you practically anything about knitting, if you only have the patience and want to try :P
