About Me

Software Engineer who is going to take 2016 off to pursue my real passions in life which are Philosophy, Nature, Buddhism and Psychology/Therapy.

I'm a very relaxed and open person who can get along with anyone. I moved schools 13 times growing up and been to international and European schools so I'm used to a multicultural environment :)

I've lived in England, the Netherlands and Belgium as a child and teen and in my twenties (which I'm still in) I've lived in Ukraine and in the Netherlands where I'm currently based.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I lived in Ukraine I met lots of lovely people through couchsurfing who were on the most amazing adventures and it was great to hear their stories and know that I could contribute to them having at least a fantastic time in Lviv (the city I was in).

Next year I will be selling/giving away everything I own to go travelling around Europe, India and Thailand and so it would be nice if I could be on the receiving end of couchsurfings hospitality.

So those two reasons are why I'm putting up my apartment on Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Almost anything, good music is good music. From Amon Tobin to ZZ Top.

Movies: I got 5 Terrabytes of movies. I enjoy everything from Disney cartoons to weird films like Eraserhead to action films like the Bourne series to Adam Curtis documentaries. I like anything that either stirs my emotions or challenges my intellect and sometimes I just like to see someone blow shit up.

Boos: Mainly non-fiction books about psychology, history and science. But I did just finish the second book of Graham Hancock's historical fantasy series War God about the Spanish invasion of Mexico and their destruction of the unbelievably bloody human-sacrificers The Aztecs. My favourite book is Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taken Ayahuasca, psychedelic brew used for thousands of years by shamanistic cultures, in the wilds of Brazil. (I'm not uber-hippy if you're worried about that, I am a software engineer after all ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you psychotherapeutic techniques to be more in control of your emotional state and to align your life more in the direction that you want to go. I can also teach you about programming but that's not so much in demand :P

I just like learning about people and their values and belief systems. How do you see the world? What do you think about when you're day dreaming?

I'm not a materially rich man in terms of possessions but I love to share food/recipes for good meals, stories of adventures and just general tips and tricks for living satisfying lives.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The techniques and ideas that I have found to greatly improve my quality of life. From Neuro Linguistic Programming to Meditation to Buddhist Philosophy I can normally find something that clicks with whoever I'm with.
