About Me

Hello, friends! I recently graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Biochemistry. I'm very excited to go exploring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I need someone to help my tie my shoes when I'm away from home. But on a more serious note, I'm about to embark on a road trip across the western United States. I will probably spend most nights camping but I would love to be able to meet new people and experience a new city.

At the moment I am unable to host but I look forward to when I can!

Interests

Being outside (hiking camping etc. would love to learn to rock climb), doing something absurd and new, going to shows, and learning new things. I am an amateur yogi and salsa dancer but a little rusty in both those departments.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Animal Collective, The Books, Broadcast, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Beach Boys, Guided By Voices, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Boards of Canada, The Incredible String Band, and I'm trying to become better acquainted with jazz

Movies:
I love The Big Lebowski, Fargo and anything by the Coen brothers. It's Such a Beautiful Day is probably my favorite movie of all time and has a lot of personal meaning. I generally like watching strange movies that are both good and bad, some favorites that I've watched recently are El Topo and Alice, by Jan Švankmajer (a dark surreal depiction of Alice in Wonderland done largely in stop motion).

Books:
Anything by Vonnegut, Leaves of Grass, and whatever I'll have in my traveling library (aka trunk)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A smile, bad jokes, good coffee (never travel without it), and esoteric knowledge that I probably learned from Wikipedia or odd experiences.
I have an odd assortment of stories and experiences and a lust for adventure to share as well.

Additionally, I will probably have a lot of rice and beans if that sweetens the deal for you at all.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland
