I'm an English student (studying French) and am easy going and very keen to meet new people. At the moment I'm living in the amazing Île de La Réunion, as I'm lucky enough to get to spend 5 months here as part of my French degree.

I had 2 months living in Annecy, France teaching as an English assistant, but then decided to make the change to Réunion, and no regrets so far.

I love making new friends, finding out more about where I'm travelling - from the locals! I travel as much as I can, and have had some great experiences in European cities (Berlin is probably my favourite). In 2015 I travelled in India and China on my own, which was incredibly eye-opening and unforgettable. Great to get out of my comfort zone. Always wear sun cream.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I'm in Réunion for a few months, I'm keen to surf around and meet new faces who might be able to share some more of the amazing things to be found on the island. I booked my flights the day before I flew here - all a bit last minute - so now I ant to make the most of being in the Indian Ocean with the most important part: the people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I spend most of my time finding new music online, so this is very tricky.. My (first) favourite band was Radiohead, no one has made better music. Maybe Talking Heads. Then I listened to loads of hip-hop for a few years: Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Nujabes, Jeru the Damaja, Kendrick Lamar, 2Pac, J Dilla only the best. I'm also proud to say I love Kanye West.

At the moment I'm listening to lots of electronic/dance music: Burial, Four Tet, Caribou, Apex Twin, Jon Hopkins, Todd Terje, Jamie xx, lots of UK stuff. Throw in some techno, house, garage, disco, and I'm happy. And I'm enjoying Réunionnais music - Maloya.

Movies: I love Tarantino (Kill Bill), Tree of Life, No Country For Old Men, Apocalypse Now (my number 1), Moonrise Kingdom

Books: big fan of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Hemingway, Balzac (sometimes in French)
