About Me
The Mongol Rally 2018 - This is the next adventure.
After almost a year overseas I have firmly caught the travel bug. I am home in New Zealand for the summer, and in June 2018 I will be back on the road. In July this year myself and two friends will embark on the Mongol Rally, and it is set to be the most epic journey yet.

I explored the USA, UK and Europe in 2017. It was great getting involved in the couch surfing community in that time, and the first time I tried it I stayed in a house boat. It was a grand and novel experience, and one of many memories I will never forget.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Cultures are fascinating, and I want to learn more about different places from the inside. Couchsurfing is an amazing way to connect and share stories with different people and communities. I am here to learn other perspectives of the world and develop my own way of thinking.
Interests
Giving new things a go has always been a hobby of mine. It has led me into a journey of unicycling (competing at nationals!), magic (becoming a member of the Christchurch Magicians Society last year), and more recently acroyoga, where you get to form an amazing partnership with someone as you face the challenge of acrobatic yoga together!

Music, Movies, and Books
Lindsey Stirling, The Pretty Reckless, RHCP, Pink Floyd
Austin Powers is a timeless childhood favourite
Three of my current favourite books:
Rejection Proof - Jia Jang
One man's journey of getting used to rejection...by attempting to get rejected 100 times in 100 days. He makes crazy and awesome requests, and it's so cool to see his journey of exploring the generous side of people that he never knew existed.
Touching the Void - Joe Simpson
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck - Mark Manson
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
An 11 hour hike in Slovenia with 1800 vertical metres. I walked about 50 metres the next day.
Teach, Learn, Share
Unicycling, Dance, Magic. More detail below.
If you have a unicycle, let's ride. I won't be bringing mine as it is a little hard to carry. A side hobby of mine for years was magic. I learnt a few things with cards and went busking in New Zealand and Scotland. I led a dance workshop on a yoga retreat. It was a blast. I'm always keen on learning, sharing and busting some moves on the D-floor.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A great discussion ranging from Life, The Universe and Everything, to admiring how great Douglas Adams was. All over a good beverage. I cook a decent chickpea curry.
