PHILOSOPHY
Life is a journey, I'm not religious, but I think there is a higher power, I just think it may come from the combined power of all of the life on earth, rather than from outside ourselves. I believe that taking care of yourself and listening to other people are how you grow, and how you learn. I've spent most of my life in Seattle, Portland and the northwest, and feel I've not listened to the beat of other though processes as much as I'd like to, even with my own heart beating to Pac NW USA culture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have not as much as I'd like. Finally started using this site more. Have taken a friendly surfer out for a hike in the gorge this week, and went to a Thai Food meetup in San Fran. BF & I have now hosted a few people here in our lovely basement just off a local bus line. Hopefully I'll make it to a local meetup soon.
I've used the site for quite a while to learn about areas long before I began to meet anyone.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with a couple host families while in Australia. It was a great experience. I however, am really at the beginning of my couch-surfing journey. I helped play host to a bunch of Australians in Seattle a few years ago, and regularly have loved playing tour guide anytime I run across someone from out of town. (Heck, I was in Seattle a month ago, surfing a good friend's couch for the weekend, and gave someone a tour of the town!)
Have really enjoyed my few opportunities to pick people up from the train station, or host them here in Portland. Meeting people with a journey in life, is always a special joy.

- music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think my most amazing experiences, have been the simple ones with good company and an amazing spot. A few of my faves....
-I just spent all of Sep and Oct 2010 on the road, travelling Greyhound. What an experience. The bus was as much of a learning experience about a side of American culture as the entire rest of the trip. The people, the roadside towns, the stops.
-With Mom in Australia, while I had pink hair, and tropical bird landing on my shoulder and pecking at my hair...
-Driving north to Whidbey Island with my friend Bob, and just sitting along Deception Pass, in good company, saying nothing.
-The week I spent with a friend from Boston when I was 18, driving my little economy car across most of the NW showing him forests, and cities, and deserts, and everything in between!
