About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have an adventure in the states via couch surfer. The plan is there is no plan!

ABOUT ME

A travelling Scotsman looking for adventure in the states for five weeks! A very out going person, I am easy to get along with, very sociable, very entertaining, very energetic too! I have absolutely no idea what goes on in the USA so I thought couch surfing would be a great way to meet people and to understand the states better.

PHILOSOPHY

Oooft this is an interesting one. I try to get the most out of every day- I leap out of my bed and try to get the most out of it. If I am honest, the past five years of my life my friendship group has shrunk- not because I am anti social- it's just the way it goes with friends moving away etc. So since I am starting a new chapter in my life next year I thought (whilst I am young with no commitments etc) I should put myself out my comfort zone and really grab life by the ... well you catch my drift!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I provide excellent entertainment to any host who will have me. If anyone wishes to visit Scotland my folks have a place in Aberdeenshire and my sister and I own an apartment in Glasgow (Scotland) which is open doors of course to anyone who wishes to stay (when I return to Scotland I mean!).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A great friend of mine cycled from Texas to Alaska and I think she couch surfed quite a lot of the way. Sounds like a great idea since I didn't come to the states to pay for hotels every night!

Interests

Keeping fit, I play the highland bagpipes, socializing as much as possible, film making, any outdoor activities, new challenges, meeting new people, travelling, snowboarding & skiing, cooking (a tad rusty but I'll get it back), asking questions, brushing my teeth, I LOVE eating food, losing cellphones (good at that), fixing electrical problems, keeping people happy

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: any bad action film with Nick Cage, Horrors etc- just no chick flicks

Books: Game of Thrones (smashing collection) and 'How to talk to absolutely anyone', this book pushed you to interact with random people you do not know possibly opening up new opportunities which may not have otherwise arisen (relevant to my current travelling situation don't you think?).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saved a girls life- that was pretty exciting / terrifying. 'Taggart' the Scottish crime / thriller series filmed in the apartment which was pretty awesome- I got to meet the whole cast!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to play the bagpipes (over a 12 month period!) I could teach you a few Scottish words in the dialect 'Doric' which is VERY local to my hometown area- most people in Scotland can't even understand it!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, France, Italy, United States
