About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world, inspire others, and be inspired.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in the small town of Cochrane, Alberta, situated right next to the rocky mountains in Canada. I graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Calgary and am currently studying for my Masters in Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia. In 2013-2014, I lived in Neuenhof, Switzerland where I completed my internship at ETH Zürich. Aftwards, I lived in Überlingen, Germany for 2.5 months. In the spring of 2015 I completed an exchange in Shantou, China, and did a bit of travelling around SE Asia. My passions are anything outdoors (specifically rock climbing, skiing, and mountaineering)
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is that people are generally more friendly than we are led to believe. As such, we should be kind in turn. If we are a sum of everyone we know, I'd like to know some pretty awesome people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Willing to host (when I have a couch to offer) and surf (when someone has a couch to offer me).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed around Europe and even in Vietnam. During my time in Switzerland, my roommates and I held the record for hosting the most people among our fellow Canadian interns.
Interests
I love travelling, meeting new people, and trying new experiences. Mountain top views and a couple brews aren't too shabby either :)
My passions are rock climbing, mountaineering, and skiing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all types of music, and love hearing new genres. As far as movies go, I'll watch anything from Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus to Zoolander to Planet Earth.
For books I enjoy(ed) reading Harry Potter, Einstein's Dreams and National Geographic magazines.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked from Zurich to Rome to see a friend. While normally an 8 hr car ride, this took my friend and I 42 hrs and 10 different rides. We met several ordinary nice people, a crazy guy, and one French folk band. Once we got to Rome we only had 22 hrs to visit our friend, see the sites, and realize we had nowhere to sleep. However, due to our impeccable ability to YOLO, Facebook, and some comfy steps on the street outside a hotel, we made it work.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be stoked to hear about crazy or interesting stories as well as pass some along. Moreover, If you'd like to learn how to rock climb, ski, throw a disc, or even the laws of thermodynamics, I can pass that information along too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Mountain knowledge, beers
