Overview
About Me
I’m a computer science graduate from Pomona College, a small liberal arts college in Southern California. I'm currently a software engineer in Raleigh, NC, but my real passion in life is meeting new people from different cultures. It's always interesting to me how cultures can be so different, yet have very similar underlying themes. A side project that I'm currently working on is examining how non-Western cultures use technology, how a differences in culture correlate to those difference technology uses, and how we can adapt.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think the best way to know a country is to know its people, and what better way to meet the people than by living with them! I love learning, and to do so successful I believe you need a range i.
My family emphasized the importance of generosity, and giving anyway you can, and so do I. I believe it's very easy to be selfless if you can step outside yourself for a moment, and really it's the connections and the experiences you have that matter most. Things come and go; memories, laughter, friendships- those are what last.
Interests
Baking, eating anything and everything(I have a very adventurous stomach), scuba diving, playing volleyball, wheel throwing, and swimming are a couple things I'm interested in, but my interests are always changing. Also wine. (Can wine be an interest?)

Music, Movies, and Books
Harry Potter (books over the movies any day), A Song of Fire and Ice Series,
R&B, Ballads, Beyonce, Drake, Amy Winehouse, J. Cole, Majid Jordan
The Princess Bride (!!!), Grand Budapest Hotel, The Matrix, Paris Is Burning, nature documentaries, especially about the ocean (but truth be told I'm a bigger TV fan)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not sure how amazing this is, but it was amazing for me. The summer after my junior year in high school I spent three weeks in the Caribbean studying marine biology while living on a boat, sailing to various islands on the way. I also got my PADI scuba certification, and fell in love with the ocean and its inhabitants.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you loads of American slang, some Yoruba, and an impromptu coding lesson if your heart desires. Also, how to make a delicious banana bread.
I'm eager to learn languages! Even if it's just little words here or there, I'm always excited to expand my international vocabulary.
I can share stories, smiles, dances, and an able body for those difficult house tasks!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Laughter! Warmth! Cookies!
I'm always game to cook food, and I love making people happy. Tell me what you need, and if I can give it to you, it's yours.
