About Me

It's hard to describe oneself, so I just asked my girlfriend Marlien what the first five words are, that come to her mind thinking about me. Here are the results:
adventorous, innovative, open-minded, curios, honest
Well, since I am honest, I must honestly say, that she forgot to mention funny and sophisticated :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope it will be a great way to meet people all around the globe. And most importantly, it gives one the opportunity to meet people as locals, to see how they live and get a better feeling of how their lives in their countries really are. And on the other hand, one can offer the same experience to others. I think this is, what travelling is about.

Interests

Thete is nothing special about my interests. Since I am open-minded, maybe getting in touch with you will add some new interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending half a year abroad as an exchange student in Sweden where I met my current girlfriend from Belgium. Then having a long-distance relationship for six years and - here comes the amazing part - persuading her to come and live together with me in such an hidden “paradise“ like Gütersloh.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to get out the most of your time while you are on a train. I am commuting to work and back 4 hours each day by train, so I know what I am talking about.
Otherwise I can teach you some local German words that even people from other parts won't know. While here this might help you to mingle with the locals.

What I Can Share with Hosts

See the “About me“ and “teach, learn, share“ section :) Otherwise, I'd like to stretch out my “german“ qualities such as reliability, respect and of course fun. Needles to mention, that my door will always be open for anyone who hosted me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
