Overview
About Me
In 2017, I left my home near Washington DC and moved to Munich to live with my now wife, Anja. After nearly five years in Munich, we decided to take an extended break from the corporate world to pursue our travel dreams. We started backpacking in East Africa in November 2023, then spent time in India and Sri Lanka before returning to Germany to begin an 8 month road trip to Mongolia and back in our self-renovated Lada Niva 4x4. After returning, we moved to Hamburg with our new pup, Geo, who we found in Georgia during our trip.
I’ve been an avid Couch-Surfer and Host since 2009, meeting many of the most interesting people I know. CSing actually led me to meet Anja! This community has opened my heart and mind to new cultures, languages, religions, foods, and experiences that have made me a more trusting and happier person. In general, I’ve spent the bulk of my time trying to balance my career with volunteer work, continued education, and international travel.

Couchsurfing also allows me to see parts of the world I'd likely otherwise be unable to explore, as well as provides me with the platform to invite traveling strangers into my home.
