ABOUT ME

I'm a marveler. I marvel. When I walk to work every morning, I marvel at the cloudless Boston sky, or at the way the snow is falling at a slant with the wind or straight down in the stillness.. I marvel at the city skyline every time i see it, like it's the first time; I become electric whenever I make music with friends or strangers; I'm rarely bored and I'm generally preoccupied with the inherently artistic nature of life/living.

I love all things New Zealand; my Grandma; tea; cooking; wiffle ball; the concept of 'home' as well as the feeling of not knowing which hostel/town i'll be sleeping in tomorrow night; adventure; playing piano; singing alone; harmony and singing with others; grocery shopping (especially outside of the US); the ocean; green rolling hills; this life.

PHILOSOPHY

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done some surfing around the world in the past... lately I've been trying to host or at least connect with surfers in my area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i've surfed with some incredible people. 100% good experiences. i've also hosted a handful of times now. i've enjoyed everyone i've met through this site well enough that i've missed each of them from time to time weeks/months/years down the road.

i traveled to Roma to play in a festival of brass bands, and it changed my world. i've heard and felt the heartbeat of New Zealand. i've gone skydiving.

i can show you the heart of this beautiful place they call boston. in return, tell/teach me why you love your home. i play trumpet and percussion in a New Orleans-style brass band (think parades)... maybe i will play for you, or you can see our band perform!
