About Me

I'm very easy going and clean. I like to leave things how I found them. I also really enjoy cooking and getting to know new people.

Oh and I'm from Texas originally, but don't worry I don't carry a gun, I believe in women's rights, and I think fox news is probably the worst incarnation of everything that is wrong with America. ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope to meet some nice people to learn more about the places I visit beyond whats on the touristy surface.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Anything that is done well and made for some kind of expression beyond just making money and playing what the industry demands... unless it happens to also be genuine.
For instance... Blind Pilot, Bombay Bicycle Club, Black Keys, The Band, Bobby McFerrin, Dirty Projectors, Fleet Foxes, The Head and the Heart, The Milk Carton Kids, Meshuggah, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Russian Circles, Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power, Tool, Victor Wooten, etc...

Movies: Similar to music, I enjoy quality over specific genres, though I do prefer more thoughtful movies generally. :) But a good laugh is always welcome, I mean, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil... who can say no to that?

Books: Hermann Hesse, Catch-22, Poisonwood Bible, quite a few more, though to be honest, in the last few years I've been busy reading more technical books relating to my subject and a few philosophy and psychology books to try to make sense of things.... which only helped a little of course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit steady job, sold everything I had, saved money from extra work to leave everything and everyone I knew to move to Germany to study and try to better myself while hopefully learning a little more about the world beyond the small one I had been building. Found my wife that way!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching:
I can teach pretty much anything related to music, from playing an instrument, to recording an album, to designing a studio, to how the industry currently works, etc...

I also have a pretty decent working knowledge of car mechanics which I would be more than willing to share.

Also, I can teach how to cook for yourself on a budget in such a way that you'll be eating better than you would if you had money to eat out all the time. Some skills are born out of necessity ;)

I love to talk and share all things Permaculture.

Learning:
I have a strong curiosity for pretty much everything... too much to learn and too little time in life.

Self baked bread, Kimchi, Kombucha, Ghee, and so on...
