ABOUT ME

I grew up near the twin cities in Minnesota but am currently working as a health worker in the Eastern High Atlas mountains of Morocco for the American Peace Corps. I love theater, running, books, movies and a variety of music. If I could have any super power I would fly and the last C.D. I bought before coming to Morocco was Weezer's green C.D.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am going to other peoples couches to talk about my travels and work with the Berber people of Morocco and share a little about American and Moroccan culture. Not to mention I can cook and make breakfast for you! Booyah!

Interests

I love watching movies, mainly comedy and action (typical I know). In college and high school I did a lot of acting in theaters as well as running on track and cross country teams. Vocal performance used to be a big part of my life as well but since college has sort of dropped out of the picture. If I had to pick a favorite genre of music it would be 90's alternative rock (Dave Mathews, Matchbox 20, Goo Goo dolls, Train etc.). Although I like hip/hop, classical, classical rock, jazz, electronic, and dance music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love graphic novels for Superman and Xmen, but also love Tom Robbins books, and pretty much anything by Frank. E. Peretti and Donald Miller.

Music you can see up above in interests, but all time favorite is John Mayer.

In terms of movies, the last few really good movies I've seen are Pulp Fiction, I Heart Huckabees, Michael Clayton, and Anchorman.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a B.A. in Biology, so I know a little about genetics, cellular, and molecular biology. But for right now, I'm learning Tamazight, a dying dialect of Tashlaheight, a language spoken by the Berbers in Morocco. I'm also studying the culture and life of these people so that I can get an idea for health work in the rural Berber area where I live. We can totally talk about this stuff, or about the Office if you want.
