ABOUT ME

Hello
I live in a three story row house in Zwijndrecht, close to rotterdam and dordrecht. In my garden I haved two giant French Rabbits (6kg each) called Brammetje and Moppie and I have two cats, my lovely red cat Mike and sweet crazy black DeeJee. Zwijndrecht is close to Rotterdam, the giant harbor and across the river there is the very old city of Dordrecht, where I was born. So I am very familiar in this area since I grew up here.

I lived about 20years in Dordrecht (close to Rotterdam) before moving to Arnhem for my studies. I stayed one year in London and one in Helsinki before graduating and moving to Eindhoven. I am a cheerful woman who loves to laugh and have a discussion about any topic. I usually like people who are talkative as well. Besides having an interest in anything technical I also have a creative side where I like to sew and create items out of fabric and leather. So I am quite a strange combination I think.

PHILOSOPHY

Make your own plans. Do not let anyone stop you in your plans. The last few years I have listened too much to others. I am in the process of learning to find my own way now and to say no.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard about this project when looking up accommodation for my trip to California. However my boyfriend at that time did not like the idea at all. He was kind of conservative. Well, now single I can do what I want. I like the idea of meeting new people through this medium.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, none. It would be interested to see how long it takes to get invitations etc. I am also planning to use this for my trip to California this year. I think the reference system makes secure enough for me to try out. I can always take an hotel if it doesnt work out.
Update: I had a few guests and it was great! I have since moved to Zwijndrecht and had some people there too.

Interests

Interested in pancakes, hihih. Love sweets.
One day I would like to open a webshop for the items I create. I like to skate every now and then in my neighbourhood. Shopping of course, I am a woman ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love romantic comedies, but also action movies. Depends on my mood. No horror.

Music: I love R&B, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Lionel Richie. It needs to have a vibe, good song text.

Books: Usually english books. True stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping under the sky in the Arizona dessert. It was 40 degrees outside. Sleeping in a tent was impossible.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I can teach, learn and share many things. If you ever wanted to learn how to sew, bake an apple pie or pancakes this is the right address. I also have no problem to have a conversation in English. I can teach you Dutch. If you are afraid of rabbits me and my lovely rabbits can help you overcome this fear. hihi. By sharing my house with you I hope that in the end people will be less lonely when alone abroad, have a better experience and yes we can do this in a very individualistic world. We used to do this in the past with family who came to town. Now society has drastically changed but we still are interested to hear stories and experiences from others so we can learn and be more openminded.
