ABOUT ME

ALL about me? Pff, I don't know if that'll fit here! I think I'm a very outgoing kinda guy, but also a profound and sensitive one - not blowing my own horn am I? Oh yeah, I play the trumpet! Used to do that like it was the only thing that's important; I wanted to go the conservatory (music university). And I did but after 2 months after I began, I got a shoulder injury; 1.5 years of fighting against that, I found out that you can't plan your whole life and I've been trying to live my life day by day ever since. Living for this moment, that's what I've been teaching myself. Therefor I love to travel in a way that I don't know where I'll be the day after. I walked from Belgium to Switzerland with a compass that pointed south and 2 years later from Oslo to Stockholm with a compass that pointed east. In Sweden I rang every doorbell I could find between 8 and 9 PM to stay in peoples gardens with my tent: the perfect way to find the hospitality and interesting people of the country! Couchsurfing is a bit safer and a more controlled version of that what I loved so much. Such a community makes me feel like the world is as small as a marble and infinitely huge at the same time!

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life, help other people enjoy life where you can. That's my goal. This world can be a beautiful place, if you take the time to see it. But we have to make it beautiful together.
... There's a lot I can say here, but I'd rather do that under a starry sky, with some wine and / or in good company! That's what it's all about: being together and share! The rest is just talk talk talk.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only officially couchsurfed 5 times, but all of them are experiences to remember! I love how people open their homes to stranger, that hopefully leave as friends.

Everything in the outdoors: snowboarding, hiking, swimming, rock climbing, horse riding, kayaking (wild water / sea), mountainbiking, wave- & kitesurfing, running, slacklining, skipping about in a strangers backyard, trying to perfect frontflips... :) Playing the trumpet - jazz or classical, but I LOVE to improvise with ANYONE; ultimate form of music creation! Listening to music of course, it can make or brake your day, no matter what the situation.

Movies: if I see a good movie, I can't help sit there and letting it sink in until the credits have ended! Can be any genre. SOME of the favourites: Earth, the Incredibles, Boondock Saints, Last Samurai, the Green Mile, Lucky Number Slevin, Inception...
Music: it can make you feel bluesy on a sunny day and hyper happy on a rainy one. Experiencing music is an important part of my life; to listen to it and to make it. A lot of genres I like, but jazz is in my soul: Tower of Power, Miles Davis, New Cool Collective (dutch, look it up!!), St. Germain, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles... I'd make a proper list if you had more time... like, 3 days??
Books: it's terrible, but I don't have the patience. I like it when I do it, but I can't sit on my ass too long... WANNA DO SOMETHING!!!

Can teach you to ride snowboard, playing the trumpet, slacklining, general craziness... I want to learn how to be better in every active sport I enjoy. Share as much things as I have to offer.
