Overview
About Me
I teach English in university back home in Latvia. Currently working at camp in Michigan and hoping to explore the vast beauty of the US.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe you can only truly experience a place when you're there with a local. CS is the perfect way to make each other's lives richer.
I haven't hosted yet, but as soon as I find a place to put you beautiful people, I will try and host as many of you as I can!
Interests
Excited about all things music – playing, DJing, going to gigs and talking about music will never be boring to me. If you host me, I'd really appreciate if you showed your local scene.
I'm also a huge trivia nerd, so if there are any unusual things to know about or see in your area and about yourself, I'd love to learn about it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - currently can't get enough of hardcore punk bands and all kinds of electronic music. According to last.fm (add me on there), my two most listened to artists in the past year have been JPEGMAFIA and Turnstile.
Movies - I hate to be that guy, but Pulp Fiction is a perfect movie. I've also watched around 40 movies with interpreters in them for my master's thesis, if you want to know about this super niche topic.
Books - A Clockwork Orange is hands down my favorite book. I haven't had that much time to read recently, but I really do love a good book. I've enjoyed some Vonnegut, Sartre and Camus, as well as contemporary Latvian stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went up in the Pyrenees - the first time, other than being in a plane, that I was above the clouds. It felt surreal, and made me realise how precious the Earth really is.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm modest, so I don't think I'm as good in anything to teach it (except English to my university students), but people say I can play and teach some guitar, Latvian (since it's my native tongue). I can share my thoughts on music and my favorite records, share my hair (if you need any).
I love learning languages, quirky details about you, you're neighbourhood or anything else about YOU! (especially music tastes)
What I Can Share with Hosts
If needed, I can cook any time of the day.
We can jam if you have any instruments at your place.
