Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sharing my couch and using my guests as guinea-pigs for some cooking experiments (no worries, the rate of successful cooking experiments remain high up to now).
Sharing tips and tricks about the region, particularly if you are into making the best out of the regional national parks of Northern Finland.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First experience in Arctic Norway when I joined the network, then kept using the opportunity to get a better sense of the places I visited and take the chance to meet amazing hosts along the way, from New York to Korea, Ukraine and Brazil.
Best failed CSing experience: in Svalbard, 78' North with Polar bears roaming around at night, not the kind of place where you would want a misunderstanding with your host...

Interests

Love outdoors activities (I am spending already enough time in front of my Mac because of work and activism): trekking, kayaking, discgolfing (can initiate you if you like), skiing, running and also just going into the forest and grilling (vegetarian sausages only)... So basically almost anything involving an "ing"-ending activity outside.

Oh yes, and cooking! Please feel free to come along with a local recipe if you wish to surf my couch, and we could try to cook this together (with some arrangements to accommodate Finnish/dumpster diving products :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing Thing Done: roadtrip to Mbabane, the most unexpected capital-city in the world. Hiking 10 days from the sea to the icecap in Greenland. Be carried by the winds of the Indian Ocean (paragliding).
Amazing thing seen: perhaps actually the sun shining through the frozen woods right outside my building through a -30C cold but clear air. Unique light!
