About Me

I've spent the last 3.5 years (2012-2015) backpacking and living in South America. I've couchsurfed and have done lots of events with the CS communities in the cities I've visited and lived. I spent a major part of my time living in Brazil and spent 6 months living in Rio and 1 year in Florianopolis (party island!!) working at hostels and in tourism. Now that I'm back I love to show people around my beautiful city and enjoy the rich diversity that LA has!! If you want to explore the sights, check out some cool music and sounds, or eat the world, then I'm a great guy to enjoy it with. I speak Spanish fluently and conversational Portuguese and French. I keep up on current events, world events, international economics, and art/culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to share good stories and good food with great people and create memories that creep back into your mind on some random day and time and make you smile, laugh out loud, and send positive energy into the world. I love people! I love to meet and get to know them. Learn their stories, their adventures, and their experiences.

I left for a 2 month back packing trip through South America back in 2012 and had my fist couch surfing experience in Peru. My trip ended up taking 3.5 years and many couches later; and I visited almost every country in the continent. I have to say that the people were just as important as the places. And that is why I love couch surfing. You get to meet great people who want to share and learn from one another.

Interests

Travel, cooking, wine, languages, economy, trade, politics, social justice, understanding, inner peace, music, dancing, martial arts, yoga, learning to surf, learning to play guitar, learning bjj. But I also can have a good time eating some steaks, drinking some beers, and walking around the city!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all music. I dance salsa, cumbia, hip-hop, and electronic.

I try to not watch much television except for shows that teach me something..like history or how to survive in the Alaskan wild.

I tend to read lots of news journals on current events, international politics, and international economy and trade.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've partied in Vegas from 8 pm till 8 am the next morning!I've seen the sun set over the Swiss Alps!I've white water rafted in Austria!I've felt the sands and stones of the Egyptian Pyramids!I've zipped line in Costa Rica!I've ridden a camel in Cairo! Rafted white water in Chile! Slept on the beach in Rio (more then once)! Went to a Favela Funk Festa and walked back to hostel in Copa! Ran my own bar in Brazil for a summer! Visited the tallest waterfall in Venezuela! And much much more!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to improve my Portuguese and French, learn how to play guitar. Learn brazilian jui jitsu and capoeira. And learn how to cook food from all over the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The best I can share with you is to teach you to cook some great food. From Mexican, American, Chinese, and even Lebanese food. And we can enjoy it with some great company, drinks, and conversation.
