About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Don't dream your life. Live your dreams!
ABOUT ME
I'm a sagittarius, so I like my freedom, traveling and nature. I've become a vegetarian when I was 12, because the killing of animals seemed to me a cruel and useless thing to do. After being vegetarian for 27 years, I became vegan. It felt the only right thing to do.
Sometimes I'd rather be left alone to enjoy the silence.
One of my passions is climbing, indoor as well as outdoor. As a matter a fact, everything I do in life, is always with a lot of passion and enthousiasm.
I have been struggling through a very hard period in 2007: after 6 months of backpacking through Asia, I felt a strong urgence to go back to Belgium, so I did. 10 days later, I knew why: my father died very suddenly. A couple of weeks later, me and my husband started our divorce. That was also the period when Ollie came into my life. And now, more than 8 years later, we still are in love! As I'm not a rancunous person, me and my ex are still best friends. Why fight, as there's already enough war in the world?
PHILOSOPHY
Pain is temporary, giving up is forever!
Don't dream your life, live your dreams!!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I read every request for a couch, but I don't reply anymore to general messages. So please, do read my profile. It is so much more personal and you have the feeling you know your host/couchsurfer already a little bit more. It takes a bit more effort, but I think it's worthwhile. Otherwise you might create weird and unwanted situations: get stuck for a couple of days with a veggie while you are a fervent meatlover...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We just had our first couchsurfer: Chiara. It was a wonderfull experience. We got along very well and I hope our future CS-experiences will be as good as our first.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I enjoy reading fantasy, just dreaming away in another world, no limits to your imagination. Nowadays I'm reading either children's books or detectives
Music: I like all kinds of music: rock, folk, new wave & 80's, opera, classic,...
Movies: most of the time I'm not patient enough to see the whole movie... I make an exception though, for alternative or cultmovies. As my ex took the TV with him, I hardly watch any movies at all. And I don't regret, as I'm so busy doing all kinds of stuff that I wouldn't find time for TV.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just be able to breath and live and being here on the earth, in the mingle of people, animals, living beings, that's the most amazing thing that could happen to people. I think that we should be more gratefull for that and stand still by the small things of life: watching a sunset with the person you love, making someone happy by giving him your smile,...
And swimming with humpback whales in their natural habitat. Their communication under water still gives me goosebumps...
The most amazing thing I've done is definitely beating my eating disorder which I have been struggling with for 27 years!!! In January 2019 I was bulimia-free and enjoying life to the fullest!!!
And to marry the love of my live! Cooking vegetarian for 130 people was a big challenge for me, but so rewarding.
Teach, Learn, Share
My mind is open to learn anything and I believe that every person has to teach something...
