ABOUT ME

I recently got out of the Navy and I'm free to do whatever I want before I go back to work. As you can see from my photos I'm not very well-traveled; I've visited a few countries but I've never really experienced what it's like living somewhere besides America. I don't think it counts to stop in a city, go on a tour, take some pictures, and leave. I want to know how people view the world and spend their time in foreign lands. So I went ahead and bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and I'll go back home when I've had my fill or I run out of money. I have friends in a few places, but I'll need help from CouchSurfers to experience life in the cities of Europe.

I'm a pretty normal guy. I did very well in school and I can usually make people laugh. I love to talk to people and learn new things. I broke my ankle in July so I've gotten a little doughy, but I ran long distance in high school and college and am trying to get into shape again. I'm working on learning the guitar, but I'm lacking formal education on music fundamentals.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm living at my parents' house so I can't host anyone, but I hope that I'll be able to meet a CouchSurfer everywhere I go. It would be nice to stay with someone, but all I want is to meet people who can show me the true character of where they live. Even just an email with suggestions would be great. I would also be more than happy to talk to anyone about the United States and the experiences I've had as an American.

I drove from Seattle to Washington DC. Along the way I saw the Pacific Coast, Oregon dunes, the Redwood Forest, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Grand Canyon.

I was an Officer on a submarine in the US Navy. I can talk about what it was like to be on the crew of a warship.

I can play the guitar. I'm better than a beginner, but I can't improvise on my own; I have to learn songs from other artists.

I love to learn, so I'm happy learning all kinds of new skills
