Sobre mí

My wife, Kristin and I are an outdoorsy, adventurous couple that love to travel, make new friends and experience the true local culture and spirit of a country! Up until now my wife has been taking her time getting through University, taking every other year off to travel. She graduated in December and now works at an educational arts non-profit. I work for the power company. Now we try to go on at least one big trip every year together.

The best trip we have been on so far was when we went to Costa Rica - we stayed with an amazing guy in a rural city near Arenal Volcano. He took us to a secret hot spring creek, showed us a back-way up to a gorgeous waterfall (that was closed off due to flash floods!), took us horseback riding with some of his friends... and we went rappelling down a waterfall and saw monkeys :)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

In the past we have used AirBnB, but we have found that it has become much less personal in recent years - so we're excited to try out couch surfing for this trip! We hope to make some new international friends and see the "real", local side of the countries we visit.

Algo increíble que he hecho

One of our most memorable trips as a couple, was when we went to Thailand where we were able to get up close and personal with elephants while we volunteered at an elephant rescue center, and we also went scuba diving for the first time outside of our certification!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

If you are certified to SCUBA dive I will happily take you diving. There's a place to rent gear for $60 that is very close by and there is no fee for the actual dive. If you want to go on a boat dive let me know at least a few weeks in advance and I'll go with you (and maybe Kristin), but it's quite a bit more expensive, around $200.
