About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To become self-sufficient, experience pure beauty, and to finish my book

ABOUT ME

Traveling is one of my great loves, and my current journey has me in New Zealand. I'm about to finally head out of Auckland and explore a bit of the countryside, looking at stopping in Queenstown for a few months and settling in to make some delicious coffee again while I work on my book some more :)

I would love to study the world of natural health and science, beginning with Psychology for my Bachelor's Degree, ending up with an ND. I have pride in my photo-taking skills, which is one thing I get occasional freelance work for, as well as my graphic designs and photo-manipulations. I like to think I can kind-of read palms...under the right lighting...if your palm looks a lot like mine, and am intrigued with esoteric wisdom and all it contains. I'm currently writing a sci-fi fantasy trilogy and it is taking FOREVER! Who ever thought fiction took more research than a non-fiction?!

My future travel plans after New Zealand include a trip to visit friends in Hong Kong, more WWOOFing in South America, finding a job that will bring me within the reach of Antarctica, and eventually exploring the Near East, Middle East, and all of Africa. The History of humanity's journey is eternally fascinating to me and guides much of my passion and educational endeavors.

PHILOSOPHY

They always say time changes things, but sometimes you have to change them yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In Sandpoint Idaho my brother is a very active host, and while I was living with him it was a joint hosting spot. We gathered the local CSers on a regular basis for dinners and outings.

I spent a lot of time with the regular CSers in Dublin and can say that my time there was far more incredible for knowing them. Much love to my amigos there :)

Music, Movies, and Books

My absolute favorite book is easily a series by author Terry Goodkind, his Sword of Truth series. I love the way he explains the truths of life, and both reinforces what you already know and adds to your collection of wisdom.

Other books that I have thoroughly enjoyed include: The Secret History of the World - Mark Booth; The Age of Entanglement - Louisa Gilder; Teleportation: The Impossible Leap - David Darling

Music goes too far, spreads too wide to begin listing my favorites. It depends on my mood to be honest, though there are certainly the more listened to artists on my playlists. As a summary I will state that I'm open to any kind of music, especially if it's part of the local culture.
Favorite Artists: 30 Seconds to Mars; Bitter:Sweet; Death Cab for Cutie; Emerson Hart; Five Finger Death Punch; Hurt; InMe; Linkin Park; Massive Attack; MuteMath; Oceanlab; The Postal Service; She Wants Revenge; Sixx AM; We Are Scientists; Wolfmother

Movies are yet again a hard one. I enjoy most types of movies at the right time, but I have a special love in my heart for fantasys and battle scenes, anything that can considered EPIC! Not a fan of the cheesy and often terribly done horrors and thrillers. Not trying to generalize here though, I've seen some great thrillers in my time ;)
Favorite Movies: Romancing the Stone; Batman Begins etc.; The Hangover; National Lampoons Vacations; Forrest Gump; anything by Mel Brooks; The Princess Bride; V for Vendetta; Secondhand Lions; Grandma’s Boy; The Brothers Bloom; The Prestige; Iron Man; Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Favorite Series: Full Metal Alchemist; Battlestar Galactica; Star Trek; Family Guy;

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Four times now I have packed everything I own into a couple suitcases, and jumped onto a plane to a new country, uncertain of how the journey will change me, and where and how it will end. I've never bought a round-trip ticket, and I've never gone to the country with enough money to return...I know, I know, but I'm not crazy, I just like to live.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching: Life means nothing when you have no one to share it with.

Learning: Any wisdom is always appreciated. I would also love to learn some crafting skills, fabric, leather, metal, whatever you've got ;) I have a thing for swords.

Countries I’ve Visited

Fiji, Germany

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, China, Ireland, New Zealand, United States
