About Me

I'm an Italian American college student at Grinnell College in Iowa here in Europe on exchange. I'm very much into grassroots methods of change-making and political action, especially on climate change, but I promise I'm not always intense. Just hanging out with cool people and learning their stories is one of my favorite things to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a broke college student looking to save every penny so as to avoid a premature return to the States, but to be honest I would take an interesting stranger's house over a five star hotel any day of the week. By far a more enriching way to travel, and one that leaves me feeling far more connected to the location, to myself, and to the human race as a whole.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is definitely Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch. I discovered it when I was 15 and was put on a journey to discover my own path in life that went beyond the future my parents had picked out for me, seeking meaning, connection, a true community of people I could be home with. The book is nonreligious but profoundly spiritual in nature, and the love of spirituality and self-discovery I gained from it has made it one of the most influential forces in shaping the way I live my life.
Not sure if I have *a* favorite movie, but Memento is definitely one of them.
Favorite band is the White Stripes, but I have many others. Jimi Hendrix, and The Black Keys are two others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At my college in Iowa I founded a collective that is now one of the biggest activist organizations at the school, introducing dozens of new young people every year to methods of grassroots change-making. When I look at how much it has grown and how many people have found a sense of community or empowerment from it, I know that it's hands down the most amazing thing I have done.

Teach, Learn, Share

Nothing I love sharing more than insights into the questions I think really matter, all the good stuff like "what does consciousness mean" and "what does a post-consumerist world look like." I love the fact that everyone has a slightly different opinion or perception and yet there tends to also be tremendous unity in interpretations and experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to share as much about my culture as you would like to hear! And I'm eager to learn about yours in return.
I have some interesting stories from my career as a grassroots activist I would be happy to share, as well as my hopes for the change it can produce in the future.
Am also a decent cook and would be happy to cook for you!
