Overview
About Me
Early 30's, respectful, curious, conversational, omnivorous, non-smoker, light drinker, left-leaning, left-handed, vaccinated.
I am easy to spend time with and enjoy sharing meals and conversation. I love getting to know new people, though my introvert battery can get low more quickly than extroverted types. Politically, middle/left, and I enjoy company of all types. I've never seemed to find a correlation between one's political beliefs and their friendliness or willingness to help another person in who's in a bind.
When hosting, I am interested in making friends and sharing a meal and/or stories. Feel free to reach out, and I will check with my roommate to make sure it works. Last-minute requests are fine, even slightly preferred, and I will do my best to accommodate any request to stay. I can offer home cooked meals, access to a bathroom and shower, and the couch.
When staying at your place, I don't have any expectations - just a place to sleep is fine, or hanging out and cooking dinner is great too. But I'm probably reaching out to you in particular because you seem interesting! I am respectful of other people's space, keeping my things tidy and out of the way, and leaving things as I found them.
I have Couchsurfed, WWOOFed, and WorkAwayed, and Warmshowered and have had good experiences on all platforms. I have completed two bike tours – a four-day trip in the San Juan Islands of Washington, and and three-week trip across upstate New York. I tend to move slowly when I'm traveling. I once took a three-month road trip of 10,000 miles entirely on back roads and camping on public lands. My version of "smelling the roses" is coffeeshops, making friends, museums, bookstores, etc.
Native Mainer, lived in Washington State for a while and recently moved to upstate New York.
My most recent job was a caretaking-type role for a beautiful 40-acre wild property. I'm currently looking for another job, considering going back to school, potentially for GIS or engineering.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting and connecting with people; everybody is one-of-a-kind and has something good to offer the world. I want to be positively influenced by the people that I meet and in turn leave a positive imprint behind me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music – both listening, and getting into the "liner notes."
I like novels/literature, especially with good characters and poetic writing, and nonfiction too.
If a movie makes me cry – that's a sign of a good movie! 🥲
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hitchhiked on a sailboat across the Sea of Cortez!
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy making music with others, as well as teaching music/guitar. I also love reading - let's exchange book recommendations!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'll gladly help with meal prep, wash dishes, keep my things tidy, put on or play music, engage in conversation, and generally be a friendly presence in your home. No expectations on hanging out; happy to keep to myself if that's preferred.
