About Me

I'm a freelance writer and political blogger who loves to travel and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here on this website at the moment just to explore how I can use it whenever I need to travel. I may use it more in the future whenever I get the urge to explore or decide to start hosting travelers myself.

Interests

Literature, Politics, Philosophy, Music, Film

I'm just an all-around culture addict really. I'd say I'm about as eccentric as most writers are in their day to day lives. I'm quite opinionated and passionate about my political commitments, but I also make an effort to be fun and receptive to people of all backgrounds and beliefs. I love to hear stories and learn new things, and I believe every single person can offer this to me, so I try to remember that when I'm getting to know new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in all these things is about as eclectic as it gets, but I do have a special passion for a few of my favorites.

I listen to a lot of Rock and Metal, but I also have a passion for Americana and Folk styles as well from around the world. I also like my share of Rap, Soul, and Jazz music as well. I really love music, so I have a lot of favorite bands and artists from all styles.

Being a Masters graduate in English Literature, I've also read my share of classic literature. I mainly studied Early Modern authors like Shakespeare and John Milton at Uni, but I also read my share of early 20th century literature as well. Lately I've been getting more into genre fiction though, so I'd love to chat with anybody who can open my mind to new books. I love books about as much as I love music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in the United Kingdom for about a year to go to Graduate School. I absolutely loved that experience, and I feel like it's unusual enough to mention, since most Americans don't really go abroad to get a college degree.
