About Me

I am a nice and polite person. I can be shy at first, but I will open up if we get on a subject I'm into.

I'm also a really funny person. I make people laugh, usually intentionally.

I don't do drugs or smoke and I've never gotten wicked drunk before.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I"m trying to travel around the country and couch surfing solves three concerns I had.
First is the cost of spending the night somewhere like a hotel. Having to pay every night to just sleep would be a significant drain on my budget.
Second is how lonely going on a road trip can be. I don't like the idea of the only human interaction being with someone behind a counter.
Third is not knowing what to do once I get to one of the cities I plan to stop at. I don't want to just go to tourist attractions. I want to have unique and interesting experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like alt rock and sometimes power metal.

I enjoy fantasy books. I've read The Book of Lost Tales, part way through The Once and Future King, some books from the Red Wall series, and other similar books.

I prefer scifi movies though. Ghost in the Shell is probably my favourite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Puerto Rico once. I went kayaking at night in the bio-luminescent bay, which glows when the water is disturbed, so kayaks and fish beneath the surface would create streaks of light across the water. There was also a tree house hotel and fried pizza.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some things about nerd culture. Things like videogames, anime, scifi, those sorts of things.
I also know some things about programming, science, and philosophy.
I love to learn. My ability to absorb information is one of my greatest strengths. I like to learning practical skills like cooking and mechanical repair.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm pleasant company. I'm capable of intelligent conversations and can tell funny jokes.
I'm not problematic and I know how to clean up after myself.
