Overview
About Me
I just recently discovered Couchsurfing and it has proved time and time again to be a game-changer. I was graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison last Spring with a Bachelor's degree in creative writing. I tend to do things on a whim and run with impulses. One day after graduation, I bought a motorcycle and decided to go on the road for an indefinite amount of time in order to write, read, and meet new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've found that the best way to truly experience a city is by throwing yourself in with the locals. And I've found that the most openminded individuals offer the most authentic experiences. Couch surfers tend to be the most interesting and friendly people with the coolests things to share.
Interests
I like words that have the 'a-' prefix: aflame, aflush, abubble.
- writing
- running
- traveling
Music, Movies, and Books
I have a long list of books I'm working through and am welcoming recommendations. I'm on a dystopian kick, but also have an interest in anything relating to social justice.
I was turned on to Andre Dubus while in Iowa City and can't get enough of his short stories. William Styron has introduced me to most of my favorite words.
I've unashamedly watched Don Hertzfeldt's 'It's Such a Beautiful Day' at least six recently and think you should watch it too. I find that I watch 'Fight Club' and 'The Pianist' at least once a year.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once upon a time, I put together a bookshelf from Ikea.
