Hi! My name is Dylan, and I am a South African currently living in Somerset West, Cape Town. I have spent the last 3 years playing and coaching cricket between South Africa and the U.K. I'm very passionate about cricket and interested in sports in general. I also have an interest in finance and investment with an educational background in the fields. I'm aiming to make a life out of cricket, either as a player, a coach or both.

I enjoy meeting new people and getting new and fresh perspectives on life and the world.😃 I always keep an open mind too, as I believe there's always something you can learn when you're prepared to listen and observe.

I have got the desire to travel as much as possible throughout my life, see the most beautiful places and embrace new challenges.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to help others (when I can) to make their traveling more affordable and interesting. It also affords me the opportunity to see new places and meet new people on my own travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music genres: Alternative rock, indie, folk music and many more. I have a pretty broad taste depending on the day.

Favourite movies are pretty much all Quentin Tarantino films and the Harry Potter films. Wes Anderson films go down well too! 12 years a slave is probably high up the list.

I'm a big series watcher as well, with my current obsessions being Game of Thrones, Suits and The Walking Dead.

I enjoy reading about anything that relates to my interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have spent the summers of 2016, 2017 and 2018 in England playing cricket for a local club, being involved in the club through youth coaching and other voluntary help around the club. It's been incredible to make some of the friends I've made, and integrate in the British culture. It's a standout for me because I got to do what I love and travel at the same time.

I enjoy cooking and enjoy preparing a wholesome meal for others.

I also love to converse about a variety of topics, especially if they start to get a bit philosophical!

I can teach some basic Afrikaans and Xhosa, but I am not fluent (disclaimer ;) )
