About Me

Hi, I'm Dylan. Pictured above with me is my wife Kai. We enjoy going outdoors and learning about wildlife. We are vegans. I enjoy sports and nature, and doing crazy stuff with my friends!
Kai is a certified yoga instructor and personal trainer!

I'm learning traditional Chinese medicine at the moment, so maybe I can share some stuff I've learnt with you.

Let us know if you need a place and we will try to see if we can host you! It's difficult as do not have our own place yet, but we'll see if we can work something out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're here because we wish to travel around the world. We like exploring new places and trying out new activities.

Making new friends in new places beats being a stranger in a strange land. We hope to meet many interesting people and learn about their home countries as we travel. We have compared couchsurfing around Europe staying in hostels and hotels around Asia. While both have their respective pros and cons, couchsurfing is definitely more fun and less monotonous.

On the other hand, if anyone plans to visit southeast Asia, we can give them a hand, as we've visited a number of places here.

If anyone is coming to Singapore, I can host them in my small room. It's not the most comfortable, but if you don't mind a mattress, it's yours for the night. Or two.

Interests

I wish I was half as interesting as the things that interest me. I enjoy heading out into nature, and seeing new things around the world! I love animals as well.

  • animals
  • martial arts
  • eating
  • nature
  • sleeping
  • vegetarianism
  • mountain climbing

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
No actual favourites, but older songs are generally better in my opinion.
I do like Linkin Park, Oasis, AC/DC, Evanescence, Bon Jovi

I also like instrumentals without lyrics.

Movies:
Jungle Book (2016)
Marvel Cinematic Universe
300
The Matrix
Terminator 2
I'm generally ok with most movies. If I can't sit through a movie, it must be really bad...

Books:
Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson
( I grew up reading this in the papers. I'd like to believe this comic played a part in shaping the person I am today)
Superhero Comics
Game of Thrones

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climb Mt Fansipan in Vietnam
Via Feratta on Mt Kinabalu
Fired a tank!
Saw the Northern Lights
Hang glide over Interlaken
Backpacked across Europe for 3 months
...Forget things that had just been mentioned just mere seconds ago...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a card game known in Singapore as "Dai Di", which translates literally to Big 2. I'm currently learning about traditional chinese medicine, so I can share some stuff I've learnt if it interests you.

There is always something to learn from the world. I'd be happy to learn anything new.
the more we know, the more we realise we don't know.

I'll share anything else should you need it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything our limited experience has to offer them!
We will help clean and cook. Kai can cook. I can clean haha.
Kai can teach some yoga as well.
We can bring some stuff from Singapore if you'd like. Just ask!
