About Me
ABOUT ME
My uncontrollable curiosity has led me in some weird and wonderful directions. In 2006-7 I led an experiment in post-apocalyptic living in the Scottish Highlands. On another occasion I made a film for British TV which got banned. I have worked as an interpreter for a Marxist Catholic nun and a Zulu, trained as a Lacanian psychoanalyst in Argentina, and been censured for sharing a scientific paper about fruitbats. I've also taught at various universities around the world, written several popular science books, and set up two companies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling the world and meeting new people. Also, I hate paying to stay in soulless hotel room. I'd rather sleep on the floor in someone's house than in a luxury bed in a posh hotel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Climbing to the top of Wayna Picchu, and looking down on Machu Picchu from an even higher mountain.
2. Visiting the grave of my grandfather in Berlin. He was shot down over Germany in WWII
3. Reading Nietzsche's book, "Human, All Too Human"
