About Me

I'm currently in Italy researching universities for my graduate degree and am hoping to spend some quality time in other and every of the various places on this rotating stone when fate allows me such!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . .

I have a passion for nature, culture, music, books, a good adrenaline rush, fantastic food (specifically spicy plant based food!) and the ocean! Always down for a good activity including but not limited to running, yoga, swimming, dancing, drawing, writing, reading +++

I love it all!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favorite thing to do is travel. My family jokes that I was born to be a rambling Wo-man. I would have to agree. All things, places and cultures interest me. Difference is beautiful and should be embraced and appreciated, per my very biased views (;

Interests

As the fifth of six children I have grown up around so much variety in terms of food, hobbies and conversation. Thus, I began to develop an appreciation for a whole myriad of things! Far too many and too deep to merely list on a social platform! heheheh

Thank goodness for student Ids as they allow me affordable access to
the philharmonic, plays, and all sorts of museums! I love the beach! For me the ocean is the most majestic place in the world. I've been attempting to take up skateboarding but it's been a lil' difficult getting my 'bearings' ;)
Although I'll never be an artist my position from just an admirer to an appreciator of my own creations has taken form (literally! (; ... ) in the last few years.

I love to run and recently have been getting into kickboxing! Podcasts are my jam and I listen to all sorts of different topics because I find most things pretty darn nifty! There's a lot more but I'll save some for verbal conversing :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of music some of my favorites are: T-bone Walker, Tupac, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Stravinsky, The Rolling Stones, Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Earl Sweatshirt, The Mama's and The Papa's, Cat Stevens, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, The Steve Miller band, Mumford and Sons, Fortunate Youth, The Old Crowe Medicine show, The Basement Mixtapes, MIA, Bob Marley, and anything from the sixties! I also enjoy the Khmer, the Guzheng, the Gamelon, Irish folk music, Albanian/Ukrainian/French/Italian/ Slovenian Traditional music, salsa, bongos, Jazz, Blues, 20's swing music, Scat, Nigerian rap , and everything else that isn't shitty!

Movies: I realize that I am super open to the movies I watch, the things that make me fall in love with a movie (in no particular order are ) 1.) a witty script 2.) a great score (the background music) and 3.) intelligently thought out and executed plot ( where there is obvious intention of almost everything you see, hear and feel throughout the movie)
I must note however that if it is my choice I tend to choose documentaries, seeing as how real life tends to be pretty solid at hitting my marks! :)

Books: The range of what I fall for when it comes to books is way to broad to describe! I’ll start with my first love, the Harry Potter series, To Hang a Thousand Trees with Ribbon, The Greatest Man in Cedar Hole, The Fountainhead (although not a fan of the author's political views! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ), and Homo Sapiens, Crime and Punishment, 100 years of Solitude, Human's Rights... are a few off the top of mi noggin!

I usually travel with a bunch so I tend to give them away when I'm done, ask and I very well might have something up your ally :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't name just one amazing thing I've done as my life has been FILLED with moments of pure ecstasy! But a few recent ones include: stumbling upon a waterfall in Indonesia where I bathed with the older ladies of the village; being auntie Dylie to 7 precious beings andddd discovering the meaning of my existence while floating on top a bunch of teenie-tiny atoms while gazing up at the universe!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Yoga! I just became a certified as a teacher so my moves are a little more legit (but only a little more hahah)

Learn: My eyes, ears and mind are open for anything you want to share! Languages, delicious delicacies, an instrument, theories of the past, present and future!... Much progress is hoped for!

Share: Awesome memories made to pass along to our great great grandkids!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good conversation, a hiking/running partner,
Also I can make some sub-par spiced vegetables! (I promise to only serve them if they're edible)

In addition to regular school I attend NPR university ;) so, a few interesting and often random tidbits of information I've gathered while listening to them often come up in my conversations. *Disclaimer however, I usually don't remember all the details hahah!
