About Me

CURRENT MISSION
“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.” – Mark Jenkins

Well read, cultured, athletic and ambitious writer, full of life experience who is hungry for more.

ABOUT ME

I can't Imagine hearing about all the different people, places and cultures of the world and never seeing it all with my own eyes.

Currently living in Barcelona for the rest of 2019 and then moving to Scottsdale, AZ USA for 6 months.

Background: Grew up with a very diverse group of friends in New York, hosted an exchange student from Turkey for a year. Studied abroad in London and Paris. I also spent a summer in Nicaragua.

In 2013 after College I saved up for 6 months, sold everything I owned and moved to San Diego to play music on the street with my friend Brian (A Fifth & A Flannel). After 3 months of staying in hostels, shelters, couchsurfing and sleeping on the street, we crossed the country playing music in every city until we had enough money to catch a bus or ride off Craigslist to the next city. After a month and a half on the road we ended in Atlanta where I began working at a restaurant to save up to move back to New Orleans.

Late 2014 I became a New Orleans Police Officer working in the most dangerous areas of the city. I went from Patrol to Task Force to Narcotics Detective to S.W.A.T in a matter of 3 years. In January of 2019 after experiencing an excessive amount of death, loss, pain, and mental/emotional rollercoasters I found my relationship with myself and my fiance depleting rapidly and decided to walk away from what I thought was my dream job.

We sold everything we owned and moved up to New York. Shortly after I began working on the book that I had been writing since 2011. I launched a blog that got me a job writing for a police magazine, then the perfect online business/community fell into my lap. I went through an entire year of healing and personal development while running my first online business and now I am a full-time digital nomad making a positive impact all over the world while working from my laptop.

PHILOSOPHY

The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time. -Jack London

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The reason I host couchsurfers is to not only create good karma for my future trips but it also allows me to meet people from all over the world while I am not traveling. I absolutely love meeting new people and exchanging stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted 20+ surfers in the last two years. I have never had a bad experience. Of course some have been better than others and some we have begun planning trips together by the end of the second night. Some of them I have already traveled to go see! Everyone of them have been awesome, respectful and have had stories to tell that fuel the fire inside of me to travel the world.

Interests

Have the best human experience I possibly can while leaving the world better than I found it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossed the country with a backpack and a washboard for 4 months surviving off what my friend and I made playing music on the street.
